One of the most beautiful attractions to be seen in the Leeds area is definitely the famous Harewood House, a country manor considered to be one of the ten most stately homes in all of England. In honor of that status, it has also been afforded a Grade I listed building designation which protects it from demolition. The House makes an excellent site to visit for the Leeds tourist who wants to see a great example of classic architecture and get a taste for local history.

Today, the Harewood House is still privately owned by the present day Harewood family, who still carry titles of nobility. Visitors to the house today typically come to enjoy the architecture as well as the many wonderful paintings and works of art that adorn the interior of the manor. In addition, they also tend to favor walks in the well-kept garden outside the estate, which tends to attract many wonderful specimens of bird life.
