 "super friendly chinese lady!"
Overall it was ok, my bed was dirty and got a new room immediately. Make sure you bring flip flops to take a shower and i brought my own towels. But you also get towels from them. The neighbour is ok, close to Nice places downtown like union square but dont walk there like a reall tourist with your camera

 "Last resort"
I just spent 5 nights at the Aida hotel on a business trip - it was the last resort as almost everything else was fully booked. The neighborhood does not feel really safe to walk in, but not terrible either. The rooms were small, and if you have meetings in the morning the shared bathroom is not optimal (since you're waiting in line for a shower). However, if you are in San Francisco on a budget holiday then this hotel is just fine. The staff are friendly, and it is very close to a BART station.

 "This is in a great location"
Pros: This is in a great location. the area is not the best of san fran but remember how much you are paying for. its really easy to get main attractions. if you are not planning on actually spending time in your room, it is great.
Cons: Market street can be load. there is a club across the street as well

Cons: The elevator is old and does not work well. sometimes the "door open" button will not work and if you manually hold the door open for too long it will sometimes refuse to close. when it does close it has no safety mechanism so it will just bang against you if you are standing in the doorway. while it's not dangerous or even that painful, it's still a nuisance. also, the management requires all guests to leave their key with them when leaving the hotel and only offers one key.

 "The price of the room was excellent"
Pros: The price of the room was excellent. if it had air conditioning, small refrigerator, and in room blow dryer and iron that would have been more convenient. the antiquity of the hotel was fabulous but it needs to be cleaner.
Cons: The main 2 negative things was the cleaniless and the shower. the hotel lobby was in need of a good dusting and vacumming as well as the room carpet. the bathtub had a residue that was either because it wasnt rinsed well after the cleaning or it was left over from someone taking a shower and wasn't cleaned. the shower head would spray full bore than go to a trickle. the water would get extremely hot than go cold. it was the worst shower i have ever had b/c i had to rush from under the running water to not get burned and then shiver to let the cold water rinse. if i didnt have an event the next day i would have left. if they could clean up the rooms and fix the water, it'd would have been just fine.
