Good experience. though the hotel mostly has shared bathrooms. the bathrooms are small but pretty well kept. the rooms and beds are comfortable. great value for the money in downtown sf. if you plan on staying only a few nights and plan on only sleeping in your hotel, the price can't be beat in sf.Anonymous

The hotel is well-situated. out the door to the right is a quiet neighborhood (corner stores, cafes, diners, hills [it is san francisco!], etc.). out the door to the left is rowdy polk street (bars [gay and straight], an assortment of restaurants, drunks, hookers, tourists and, of course, hills!). the rooms are clean, fairly quiet, the common bathrooms are well-tended during the day. please note i said "during the day".
Both card keys to my door stopped working! even the maid's card key did not work. this meant that i had to walk one and one-half blocks just after a shower, up a hill(!) to the front desk to get replacement card keys. this being san francisco, absolutely no one noticed a man walking down the street in his bathrobe.Anonymous

Room was more spacious than i expected. the building is 1/2 block away from the #19 muni bus stop. polk street is 1/2 block away and is full of restaurants and bars.Dirty linen was piled behind a chair in the room!Anonymous

Rooms are clean, well furnished (some are over-furnished!), quiet, shared restrooms are clean.No elevator(!) with steep stairs, wireless internet is so slow it is useless.Anonymous

The rooms are comfortable, mostly quiet.No elevator, steep flights of stairs, no face towels, the internet connection is useless in the room (have to sit in the hall near the stairs to use it), the front desk more than a block away in another building, homeless people and drug users hang around the entrance day or night.Anonymous
