M. H. de Young Memorial Museum San Francisco

The M.H. De Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco, California is a fine arts museum located in Golden Gate Park. The museum gets its name from M.H. De Young, a newspaperman from the early days of San Francisco. The museum has been a part of the park since 1895, and received a lot of damage during the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. The entire structure had to be mostly rebuilt, and was finally reopened in 2005. This new version of the M.H. De Young Memorial Museum has a layer of copper on the entire exterior.
