Financial District is the location of the Transamerica Pyramid and is home to many multinational headquarters. One of the top four financial centers in the United States, San Francisco’s Financial District is the central business district for the city, and is located very close to Chinatown. The area is also close to Union Square and Nob Hill.
If you’re travelling to the Financial District for business reasons, be sure to save some time for sightseeing. From here you can wander up to North Beach and walk or catch a cable car up Nob Hill to look at the mansions. You can explore Chinatown on foot, walk to Union Square for some shopping, catch a show at the nearby Theater District, or visit the beach for some sun. Staying in the Financial District puts you close to the 25 yard swimming pool next to the port. You can catch a ferry to Angel Island and enjoy views of the Bay Bridge. You’re also in a great position to see 555 California Street, which was San Francisco’s tallest building when it opened in 1969.
