Miami Beach City Hall is a historic structure, located on Washington Avenue in the city. It has been here for over eighty years, and is an easy walk from the convention center and the theater. It is of interest to the architecturally minded, as it is fashioned in the well known Mediterranean-Revival style. In January of 2006, Miami Beach City Hall was renovated and restored at a cost of around seven million dollars. It is listed in the National Register Historic District, and part of the Save America’s Treasures organization.
The Miami Beach City Hall has nine stories, and stands today as a reminder of how many buildings were built with this same architectural feel back in the 1920's and 30's. The renovations done to the city hall will enable this structure to be used for government offices and a County courtroom.
