Hotels in Old City Hall

          Old City Hall Details

Once the allure of the blue skies and sandy beaches wears off, many vacationers in Miami Beach find themselves taking a tour of the world famous Art Deco architecture this region is known for. Created in 1927 by architect Martin Luther Hampton, Old City Hall on Washington Avenue, is a towering structure that features a Mediterranean flavor, complete with balconies and surrounding palm trees. The city hall was created after a 1926 hurricane that devastated the Miami Beach area. The design was meant to show confidence that the city would bounce back. Other nearby sites of interest for architecture buffs include the Washington Storage Building and the Miami Beach Post office.
