The citizens of Miami Beach are quite proud of their new library. The Miami Beach Public Library was once housed in a building that is now home to the Bass Museum of Art. People have had the pleasure of using this library since April of 2005, when it opened for library patrons. It has a pleasing silhouette of stucco and glass, arranged in geometric order. An architect by the name of Robert A.M. Stern can take credit for designing this lovely and innovative library building. Visitors to the area that do not travel with a computer can make use of the multitude of computers available here.
Behind the Miami Beach Public Library, you will find a wonderful little enclosed courtyard. It is a perfect spot to read the daily newspaper or a good book during a long afternoon. There is a pool and a fountain here as well, and the area is tropically landscaped, as a library in Miami Beach should be.
