Providence Canyon State Park is often referred to as the Little Grand Canyon. The up to 150 feet deep gullies caused by erosion form farming are a main attraction. It is a popular spot for backpacking, as well. The park has 1,003 acres of land with numerous campsites and shelter houses. There are 3 miles of hiking trails and 7 miles of backtracking trails. The park features some annual events like astronomy night, fall wildflower day, geology day and a Christmas workshop.
