Kauai is the oldest and northernmost Hawaiian Island, encompassing 550 square miles. There are at least nine high quality golf courses to choose from here ,or if golf is not your thing you can ride horses along the coastal trails through Hanalei Valley, or along the beach and among the coves of Mahaulepu Beach. Fishermen can fulfil the lifetime dream of landing that huge Marlin off the south and east coasts. If you are feeling really energetic, climb the world famous Makana Peak and relive the scene from the film ‘South Pacific’ that was made here.
Visit the northernmost point of the Hawaiian Islands at the 53 foot Kilauea Lighthouse, built in 1913 and boasting the largest lens of its kind in the world. Take a trip to the National Tropical Botanical Garden on the south shore, which contains a multitude of bright flowers and plants and ancient Hawaiian stone walls. The island predictably has some of the world’s finest beaches for you to relax and swim. There are plenty of cheap hotels on the island, which you can find at EasyToBook.com.
