This nine-hole golf course is one of six run by the Chicago Park District, and is one of the most popular golf courses in the Windy City. It was originally called Waveland, but was recently re-named in honor of the venerable Justice of the Peace, Judge Abraham Lincoln Marovitz. However, to many patrons it is still Waveland. This course has a beautiful setting between Lake Michigan and the Lakeview skyline. This means golfers have two great views to enjoy while waiting their turn to tee-off.
This very popular North Side course is usually busy. Line ups for the greens can begin at 5:30 a.m., but you can make advance reservations, for an extra fee. Each player must have a golf bag and five clubs to gain admission. Equipment is available for rental. Caddies are not permitted. This is considered a very good course for beginning golfers. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor staying at any of the budget hotels or discount hotels near the Sydney Marovitz Golf Course in Chicago, you’re sure to enjoy your day on the green.
