I always stay at this place when I have a layover in Chicago. If you want lavishness and are out to impress then ante up and stay at the Hilton. But if you just want a comfortable room with FREE shuttle service at around $50 or less (a taxi will cost you $25 each way alone) - then this is the place.I like it.

"AVOID THIS HOTEL!!"
This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at!! We have 6 kids so we got 2 rooms. The first night we were there the T.V. was broken in one room, there were roaches in the one bathroom and black mold in the other room's bathroom! I do NOT enjoy going to take a shower and finding roaches in the bathroom! On our second night there, they had double booked our rooms so we were forced to take 3 rooms with double beds and roll away beds! The lobby looks nice when you walk in but the rooms are gross! There are bleach stains in the carpeting, the room number plates are missing so the room numbers are written in black marker and all the rooms stink! So gross! For breakfast, they have a sign when you check in saying they offer coffee, tea and "donuts". The donuts ended up being Swiss Cake Rolls! When I asked where the donuts were, I was informed the Swiss Cake Rolls were the "donuts" and that was their idea of a "convenient" breakfast! This place should be closed down! The managers are NOT helpful with problems. The cheap rates are NOT worth the conditions you have to put up with in this hotel!

"The front desk staff were very helpful and informative"
Pros: The front desk staff were very helpful and informative. the room was spacious.
Cons: The advertised pool was not working! this was an extreme let down since it was 105 degrees. they said it was under maintenance but by the size of the weeds i would say its been "under maintenance" for a long time. that was one of the prime reasons we took that hotel. the room was not clean as it could have been. we couldn't even use the dresser because there were crumbs in the drawers. we understand it was a bargain price but simple things like cleaning would make it alot more comfortable.
Pros: The hotel staff was courteous. the hotel is extremely inexpensive, but the hotel is not in good shape. we were able to catch the l several blocks away, so we saved a lot of money this way. for the money we paid to stay in chicago, i was satisfied, but it's not a destination in itself.
Cons: The pool has a foot of green water, and ducks are (honestly) using it as a pond. the tv remote control would only cycle the channels down (volume, power, menu, individual channel number buttons - all caused the tv to move down one channel). i don't recommend this hotel for a family trip. if you are single or a young couple looking to experience the "blue collar chicago" it's not a bad way to go. we paid $36/night. most of the chicago hotels were running $180+ for the nights we were there.

"The overall experience was decent"
Pros: The overall experience was decent.
Cons: The room itself was lacking. there was no remote for the tv, clock/alarm, and the general cleanliness was lacking.

"None"
Pros: None
Cons: First, they told me there is no reservation under my name until i show them the printout of the reservation, then they said there is no 2 double bed room that i booked, there is only 1 king bed room available, no other options offered. when i get into the room, we found the bottom side of the pillow case has some hair left from the previous stay and was not changed, the bath tub seems has leaking so that you can feel like standing on the boat rocking after a while into the shower. be aware !!! you got what you paid for.
Cons: Reception staff were rude to other customers. as a single woman, i felt unsafe in this hotel and felt i had to make sure that my door was not only deadlocked, but i also wedged a chair under the door. the public areas were filthy. water was not very hot, certainly not hot enough for a shower - i could not wait to leave
