Chicago’s Fourth Presbyterian Church has a fiery history that dates back well into the city’s past. Founded in 1871 thanks to a merger of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the North Presbyterian Church, Fourth faced a rocky start. The congregation’s first church burned to the ground during the Oct. 8, 1871, Great Chicago Fire.
