The museum has undergone extensive renovations and modernization. It now covers 14 acres, and offers visitors an amazing experience of light, sound and activity. This is very much a hands-on museum, where you can use computers, push buttons, operate cranks, watch videos and listen to recordings. There are more than two thousand interactive exhibits. They include a World War II German U-boat, a coal mine and a fairy castle. You can explore the mysteries of the human brain, ride a space shuttle, or walk down a 19th century cobblestone street. The Apollo 8 and Aurora 7 Mercury spacecraft are on display. Don’t miss seeing a show in the domed Omnimax Theater.
