 "Small and uncomfortable"
I know that a lot of the attraction (and cost) with hotels is location, location, location. However, location could not save this stay. First, let me say this, the staff is more than accommodating and exceptionally helpful at your arrival and throughout your stay. The lobby is beautiful and walking out to see the river is equally amazing. My issue is the size to cost comparison with the room, as well as the comfort of my stay. I expected so much more for my money. The room was essentially the size (actually a bit smaller) of my bathroom. I could basically stand in the middle and touch both sides of the room. There was barely enough space at the end of the bed to walk around it to get to the other side. I stubbed my toe a number of times over my two day stay. The bed was uncomfortable to say the least. The mattress felt like a lumpy futon mattress. After a long day of sight seeing and walking the shops, it is NOT what you want to come "home" to.

Stay at the 3-star River Hotel for the best Chicago experience. Chicago is famous for Chicago River, Tribune Tower and Cultural Center, which can all be reached on foot from this accommodation. Harris Theatre is within easy walking distance, as are Cloud Gate and Fine Arts Building. If you stay here, you will be 0.7 km (0.4 miles) from Temple/First United Methodist Church. Sears Tower is easily accessible.

Guests of River Hotel may be happy to know there is a restaurant here, and you can also access a bar/lounge or a coffee shop/café. A dry cleaning/laundry service is one of the hotel's services. You also can make use of a concierge service and a late check-out option here. Meetings can be held here, in one of the 6 meeting rooms. Working during your stay in Chicago is more convenient, as you can use a conference space and a business center here. If you want to come by your own means of transport, you could be interested in paid parking at limited hours.
