    The Beverly Country Club in Chicago is an 18-hole golf course that is rated as par 71. Golf Week lists it as one of the top 100 Classic golf courses in the United States. This golf course, which stretches beyond seven thousand yards, was founded in 1908. The initial design was by George ONeil, but alterations were done over the years by Tom Bendelow and Donald J. Ross. The most recent restoration was done by Ron Prichard in 2002. The course is famous for the excellent use that has been made of a ridge that is one of its principal geographic features.In the century since its founding, the Beverly Country Club has played host to many prestigious tournaments. In 1910, 1963, 1967 and 1970 it hosted the Western Open Championship. In 1931 it was host to the USGA Amateur Championship. The Western Amateur Championship was held here in 1930. The Beverly Country Club was host for the Womens Western Open Championships in 1937, 1960 and 1965. The Chicago Victory National Open Championship, a wartime version of the National Open, was held here in 1943. Among the golfing greats who have played here are Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Susie Maxwell.
