    John Hancock Center Details

    The John Hancock Center is not one of Chicagos oldest architectural landmarks, but it is one of its tallest. Standing 100 stories high, the center is a mixed-use facility that blends retail, office, broadcasting and even residential spaces into a single destination. Completed in 1970, the center was honored by the American Institute of Architects and features a 17,371-square-foot observatory on its 94th floor. It also provides more than 30,000 square feet of radio and television broadcasting space.Within the building, visitors will discover such stores as Accent Chicago, The North Face and Elephants, Etc. Restaurants here include The Cheesecake Factory, Jamba Juice and the famous Signature Room, an upscale eatery on the 95th floor. Within walking distance of the center are such destinations as Water Tower Place and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
