Hotels near Soldier Field in Chicago - Best deals & budget rates!

Chicago’s Soldier Field is a stadium that was originally constructed in 1926 to honor veterans of World War I. It eventually became the home of the Chicago Bears, the city’s professional football franchise. The stadium became famous for its hardy fans who often endured freezing temperatures to watch their gridiron heroes. The facility underwent numerous renovations over the years, but none was more controversial than the total reconstruction that was done in 2001 to modernize the facility.

The stadium that once had architecture so stately that it was named a National Historic Landmark, now resembles a flying saucer perched upon Greek ruins. This was done, allegedly, in order to make room for corporate boxes. Many fans disapproved of the new design, but that did not keep them away from the football games. Tickets are still hard to get, and expensive. It’s best to start searching for them on the Internet, well in advance of the game you’d like to attend. Soldier Field has hosted concerts by such stars as Madonna, Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones.
