This monument of the city is well worth a visit, and it is really amazing when you get a close up. At 35 feet high and situated on top of a hill, it towers above the surrounding landscape offering fantastic views of the city. It is also a great area to go for a walk around to enjoy the view.
The copper and bronze statue is one of the must-see sites of the city. It was built in 1954, and is a replica of an original statue created by Arrigo Minerbi. He was a Jewish sculptor who created the statue in thanks to his rescuers in Rome during the Second World War. When you visit it you will also find a great gift shop to check out, and if you head here at Christmas you will also be treated to the nativity scene.
