Tobin Bridge is one of the most well-known landmarks of the city. It is enormous, stretching two miles from Charlestown to Chelsea over Mystic River, making it an unmissable feature of your trip to Boston.

Once there, you will find yourself right next to the biggest bridge in New England. It was built over half a century ago between 1948 and 1950, and since then has carried traffic over Mystic River in both directions. There are two levels with three lanes of traffic on each. It was originally know as Mystic River Bridge, but in 1967 it was renamed after the mayor of Boston, Maurice J. Tobin.
