Albany NY is the home to Washington Park, a 90 acre park and conservation site. The park hosts the annual Tulip festival held in May of each year, along with the Latin festival and Capitol Holiday Lights. While you are at the park be sure to check out the Park Playhouse Inc, a theater on the lakeside, for entertaining drama and comedy. Just a ways down from the park you will find Rensselaer, the Amtrak station and Tivoli Lake. After visiting the park be sure to head over to Westerlo Island, which is alternately called Castle Island, Martin Gerritse's Island, and Patroon's Island. It’s a great place for history buffs with lots of interesting things to see and read about.
