The town of Kingston, New York, is located in the Hudson Valley. In 1777 Kingston became the first state capital of New York. It was subsequently burned by the British during the Revolutionary War. Other sites well worth a visit are the Old Dutch Church Heritage Museum, the Trolley Museum of New York, and the Ulster County Courthouse. In mid-October the town has a re-enactment of the burning of Kingston.
