The village of Lake Placid, in the Adirondacks region of the state of New York, is not actually on Lake Placid, which is a few miles to the north. After you have seen the sports facilities, take time to see Lake Placids other interesting attractions. The Lake Placid Marina offers one-hour, narrated cruises on the lake. The John Brown Farm State Historic Site is a 244-acre park that was once the home of the abolitionist leader whose activities helped to start the Civil War.
