Newly refurbished, the Hotel has 174 rooms combining a classical and elegant decoration with the comfort and the facilities of the 21st century. Great celebrities of arts and literature world, such as Dorothy Parker or Harpo Marx, spent the night in this establishment. It is perfect for tourists, as well as for business travelers arriving at New York and looking for an exquisite stay. Disposing of two restaurants, The Oak Room and the Round Table Room, they are in fact spaces with excellent gastronomy surrounded by a decoration, cared until the last detail. The offer is complete with a Business Center with 3 events rooms, reunions, conventions and seminaries for until 100 people, perfect for the work reunions. Cons: We had wake-up calls at 6 am and 5 am both morning we were there that were not requested, but i would attribute that to other guests giving the wrong room number. however, upon check-out they messed up the charge for the room and the issue has not been resolved over a week later, in fact they have no communicated with me at all regarding the issue.

Pros: All round, thoroughly satisfied. very good location - close to times square, but not too noisy. hotel very good: lounge/dining room have a lovely ambiance. rooms clean and well appointed. staff very friendly and attentive. we would recommend it highly.
Cons: The air conditioning broke down in one of the bedrooms (during a heatwave!). however, once informed, the hotel did their utmost to sort it: they installed a temporary air conditioning unit in the window at 9:30 in the evening, which sorted the problem, at least for the duration of our stay. so negative in that the a/c broke down (but then that can happen anywhere), but thoroughly positive in the hotel's response to the problem.

Pros: Great front desk and bell service. perfect level of attention paid to our table during my breakfast meeting held in the round table restaurant. nicely appointed small room in a historic hotel with plenty of closet space and a nice bathroom. georgeous, elegant lobby area takes you back in time. excellent experience. i'd highly recommend a stay.
Cons: There was one dinner waiter that provided mediocre service. everyone else was wonderful, from guest reception to the cleaning lady for room 401.
