Broadway Hotel and Hostel New York  

Pros: The value was superb. good location, decent size room, very clean shared bathroom, excellent price. very helpful staff.
Cons: It's noisy next to the street, bring earplugs if you are sensitive.

Pros: Hostel style rooms are totally adequate; hotel style rooms looked fab. shared bathrooms were always clean.
Cons: No real breakfast options - though there are places to eat just around the corner.

Pros: Had such a fantastic time here in new york. the hotel/hostel was perfect. great location. the staff were helpful and friendly.

Pros: Excellent location, homely atmosphere and good amenities. guests are encouraged to socialize and there are numerous bars and restaurants in the locality. there is a subway station near by that takes you straight into manhattan.

Pros: good internet access. pleasant front desk area...rest of the place not to the same standard.
Cons: We were greeted with a sign on the dorr stating the building was condemned! not impressed. the sign stated to vacate as it was 'perilous to life'. our room had been double booked so we had to have a room with a shared bathroom. the room was spacious and although initally not happy the bathroom was being used seemingly only by us. we were given a 25% discount for our inconvenience and told we would have 20% off the rest of our stay when moved the following day to the room we had booked with a bathroom. when moved we were told that they had 'changed their mind' and would no longer be giving us a discount for the remainder of the stay! the new room was much smaller and the bathroom tiny. very disappointing but we were unable to swop back as that then seemed a better option. the place is basic and needs an upgrade and a lick of paint. but it was cheap...the condemned sign was alarming but on new year we were unable to find an alternative.

Pros: Staff was curteous, informed & helpful, which is especially good for anyone visiting for nyc for the first time. many opportunities to meet new people from other parts of world, as there are two common areas with comfortable furniture, a place to eat & movies shown every night (& during the day) in the lounges. it is on a regular bus room; near luggage store, newpaper shop, breakfast nooks, bars, some nightlife, (convenient to greater nitelife by train or bus).
Cons: My trip & stay went well; i accomplished what i set out to do.
