Pros: I loved the area...close to battery park and walking distance to wall st and ground zero. lots of great restaurants close by. felt safe in the area. bed was very comfortable and room very clean. the lady who assists with day trips and giving out any information needed, was wonderful and very helpful.
Cons: I was woken up at 9am on sunday, by housekeeping, asking me when i was checking out. i had already made plans with the front desk for a late checkout, so i could sleep in after attending a birthday party the night before.
the staff in the restaurant were "playing around" and were very noisy and obnoxious while we tried to eat breakfast...after being woken up at 9am and the inability to fall back asleep! i thought charging for the internet, after paying 300.00 for the room was unnerving. most hotels offer free wifi. when asked for a taxi, a private car, which costs much more money, was called and we were quoted 15.00 for less than a 2 mile ride. coming home we hailed a taxi and was only charged 7.00. i found out that night that the private "taxis" are much more expensive and can charge whatever they please. i was disappointed that the concierge didn't give this important information and called one of the expensive taxis instead of trying to make it more affordable for a paying customer.
