 "Stay Away!!!"
My wife and I recently stayed here and chose this hotel because of how it looked and the the price was reasonable for NYC. The reasons you should stay away is 1) They are closing the hotel in February 2013 because they refuse to upgrade the elevators, which are crazy slow. We were told this by the check-in desk person when we asked what time the bar/restaurant opens. She said it's closed because of the reason I just stated. 2) When I pulled back the cover on the bed, there were several blood stains on the sheets. Small blood stains, but blood stains nonetheless. We had 3 different managers come look at the sheets before they brought us new ones. Oh wait, it gets better. The person who brought the sheets was the cleaning staff manager. When I opened the door, she held out the sheets as if to suggest I would change the myself. I asked if she was planning on changing them and she said "No I cannot, I'm the housekeeping manager". I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea...stay away!!!

We stayed there for 5 days. Excellente location and friendliness of staff. Our room was big and comfortable.Breakfast is poor.I will recommend it.

 "Ecellent location"
Pros: Ecellent location. 2 min walk to broadway. easy walking distance to times square, central park, restaurants, delis and metro station.
Cons: Breakfast included in room rate. however, it only consisted of lots of donuts, danish pastries and bagels. if you were lucky, there was also a bowl of fresh fruit salad which was nice. frequently had to queue to get a table, and the man in charge of allocating tables was rude and unhelpful. it was a serve yourself buffet type breakfast, and despite the cost of breakfast being included in the room rate, we were given a document to sign each time we ate there (which was only 3 times out of 12 nights)they expected, and in one case asked for, a service tip!! overall the hotel is 'tired' and needs renovating. however, it was clean and we had fresh towels and sheets every day.

Cons: Not all staff were knowledgeable about the hotel's wifi service nor the floors where it was available (wifi is available on floors 12 and lower only. wired ethernet connectivity available on all floors.)

drawers were broken and inoperative.

at&t cellular service (3g and for calling) is not the best during the work day.

Cons: Thought flatotel was a concept hotel... it really just was a regular hotel. it said in the ad that rooms were 106 m2 big - they were far from that.

Pros: Excellent large room with seperate bathroom and seperate toilet room. our premium room was in good condition and was larger that expected. location was excellent, time square only 5 mins away. even though i hadn't booked breakfast a basic compilmentary breakfast was offered, which was a nice surprise. i would happily stay at this hotel again.
