Bit of an odd place but all in all this is as cheap as you could hope for in NYC. The location is fab, nicely settled in Midtown between the Flatiron and Empire State buildings. Easy walk to most destinations or a short cab ride from others. Stayed in a private room with three friends on the 8th floor with two bunk beds, fridge, TV and private bathroom. Very basic but big and clean enough for the age of the building and price. Obviously this is no where near luxury, but the beds were comfortable and there was space to store our belongings in drawers and cupboards.Odd in a way as it seems to be some kind of women's shelter of sorts also. Residents in the place besides tourists are young women with small children. Can be a bit noisy but other than that all I can say is I would stay here again for the location and the price as it was perfect for what we wanted.

"More of a hospital / Hostel than a hotel"
Extremely bad smell in the halls and the room was small with no natural light. Blood on my sheets. I would not recommend. Better to get a hostel with better facilities
"The hotel is literally less than 1 block away from the entrance to the 6..."
Pros: The hotel is literally less than 1 block away from the entrance to the 6 subway train which takes you uptownd and downtown, so it was really convenient.
Cons: I asked for a double/queen size bed, but it was a cot-like single bed with a trundle bed underneath. very uncomfortable.
"Room was basic and very clean, included a small refrigerator"
Pros: Room was basic and very clean, included a small refrigerator. very quiet, stayed on 11th flr.staff was very nice.
Cons: Lobby needs cleaning and good paint job, get rid of those curtains & build closets/shelving for storage.
