I am travelling alone on a budget and NYMA was perfect for my needs. The Queen room is spacious, their fees are very reasonable fir NY standards, staff are friendly and helpful and you cant get a better location. I enjoyed my stay so much I changed by plans and booked another week, I was also thrilled to have a BATH TUB in my room!

Pros: Very central position.
Cons: The breakfeast room was unbearably hot. the rooms are very dark and somber. my room was facing the street and extremely noisy so at night it was a choice between colera or pest , open window or ac.

Pros: It is well located in midtown close to 5th ave. good bed and shower
Cons: Breakfasts are very basic - all plastic and disposable and no service. elevators are slow and impossible to get at peak hours.

Pros: Breakfast included, nice bathroom
Cons: Price confusion between hotel and website, and between website 'quote' and 'confirmation' - hotel insisted on more expensive price being paid, stated that difference was due to my original quote being in 'euros - as that is your currency, then it alters to $usa on confirmation'. as i am an australian citizen i never received a quote in euros (??) and the currency conversion was not a difference of $300 at time of booking - $us v $aus was comparable at the time of booking.

Pros: Great location, very central, corner of 5th avenue and few mins walk to empire state building. suggest you request for rooms on the top floor with view to empire state and chrysler building. if you like korean cuisine, this is the place you need to stay. you can find great korean food and many restaurants are open till very late.
Cons: Breakfast is very basic to poor. in the evening, garbage bags are out on street which is less pleasant but it's same everywhere in nyc street.

Pros: The hotel is good value for money. chambermaids are very nice and efficient. breakfast is very good and rich
Cons: Staff at reception was not always friendly and some of them incompetent as well. the location is strategic, but the street where the hotel is situated is dirty and stinky (because of the rubbish of the surrounding restaurants)

Pros: Perfect location if you need penn station near you. very clean and spacious hotel. looks like a brand new hotel. just in front of the empire state building and good stores in fifth ave.
Cons: The street on which it is located is dirty and smells really bad, when we first saw the hotel from the corner, it looked small, and on a not so promising street, but once you're in, it is so much different, it is all clean and nice. the good news is you never have to walk that dirty street unless you plan to stay at the hotel all day long.
