"Quite expensive but excellent location"

Some features advertised were misleading such as "tea/coffee maker and bathrobes available"; the former was downstairs in the bar therefore not a room feature and bathrobes had to be requested. The "sitting area" was a desk and chair, and although not required the trouser press was non existent. Our room was a "superior Queen" but seemed very small and cramped.Staff were extremely helpful and polite, and location was excellent.

"It was compact but fantastic"

The room was little compact with two large suit cases and a later third with all the NY shopping but the quaint and functional layout more than made up for it.The service we received was by far the best of any hotel we stayed in while we travelled the US.The only issues we had was that the air conditioning was not very consistent so some nights were a mixture of a little too hot and then a little too cold.

"Nice hotel at very good location"

Sanctuary was well located close to Times Square, especially for first time visitors of N.Y. Rooms were clean but tiny, beds very good and to have breakfast included was a big bonus. I'd say lightning designer had not succeeded; it was uncomfortably dark in the lobby, corridors and elevator. Rooms with chrystal chandeliers (nice!) were well lighted. Service was friendly and everybody very helpful. We had doubts about the shower cubicles in-built in the room separated by a curtain, but it proved to work fine. View from the window was against a wall, but then it was comfortably quiet at nights.

"Great trip to NY!"

The Sanctuary was a good fit, nice clean hotel in good location for all we were looking for. we would stay there again, did enjoy the roof top Haven as well, staff was very helpful, and breakfast was a nice added touch.

"New York! New York!"

This hotel was wonderful, literally 5 minutes from Times Square and yet in a quiet side street. The staff were so helpful and all facilities were clean and the service friendly. A list of facilities the hotel offers would have been useful in the room but as the place has recently been refurbished the staff welcomed and recognised that this was something they would provide very soon. The roof bar is amazing and our room luxurious and quiet. The room was quite small but the clever use of the space was excellent. I would recommend and visit again.

"FANTASTIC LOCATION"

Great location in midtown, clean and with a fantastic service.Very good the terrace for aperitive and the music in the hotel.Rooms are very good and if I have to find a negative points I can underline the absence of view and the fact you need pay tv if you want to watch television (poor selection of free channels).

"disappointing"

hotel is a bust. First, the bar was out of Chardonney for 3 consecutive days (probably longer -- we checked out). Bartenders, manager and front desk were all alerted and nothing was done. Second, the doormen were largely useless and often oblivious to guests entering or exiting, as their smartphones kept them occupied. Third the "complimentary breakfast" makes the Hampton Inn look like the Peninsula. Essentially a bad selection of cheap carbs; no protein to be found. Finally, the hotel is so dark that your eyes have toadjust to hit the right floor in the elevator. Would not stay there again.

It was compact but fantastic
