An historic New York hostel, with luxury bathroom amenities, close to SoHo, Little Italy and Old St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Located in the European-inspired neighborhood of Nolita, The Bowery House New York is on the bustling Bowery Street. With Chinatown only a short walk to the south away, this hostel enjoys a prime situation within walking distance to neighborhoods such as NoHo, SoHo, Little Italy and Lower East Side. The New Museum of Contemporary Art and Old St. Patrick's Cathedral are both a stone’s throw away. The hostel is a two minute walk from 3 metro stations including ‘Bowery’ which is on Line J and connects directly to Wall Street in the financial district.

Opened in 1927, this loft-style property served in the 1940’s as lodging for soldiers returning from World War II and now provides authentic and modernized accommodations. The Bowery features a rooftop garden with Italian furniture where you can enjoy panoramic views of the downtown skyline. The spacious 3rd floor living room is fitted with a flat screen television and there is an onsite shop. Complimentary wireless Internet is accessible throughout the property and luggage storage is available at a small fee. The hostel also boasts a 24 hours reception and Dutch-inspired bicycle rental service. In 2012, yoga classes will be introduced as well as the Pearl & Ash, a new restaurant serving delicious dishes.

With artwork, lighting and furniture all manufactured by independent artists, The Bowery House New York also offers individually decorated private cabins or shared bedrooms. All shared bathrooms are equipped with luxury amenities such as Ralph Lauren towels, Red Flower bath products as well as Italian marble floors, sinks and showers. For even more comfort, all are equipped with heated flooring. Laundry pickup and delivery is available upon request as well as wake-up calls.

The Bowery house was a lovely little hostel, really close to a metro station. It was perfect for me traveling by myself. It was decorated really well and just suited the style of the hostel. I did have a problem with mice in my room though.

 "noisy nights"
single cabins are too small,no shelves/clothes racks for personal belongings to sound insulation poor air condition, was hard to breathe don't recommend for asthmatics. Only staff was amazing.

 "I'll be back :)"
Even a single room has no solid ceiling, but it's OK because ear plugs will be provided. Great service 24/7! I'm definitely going to come back there. Sanitary have made in France for five star hotel. Enjoy! Ask about bed size, might be essential.

 "City Trip New york"
Very nice people, who will help you with any sort of questionDirections to the us open, printing a reservation form for the wtc. Free wifi, what works every where. Rooms are very funny, small, and different from what I expected. But the service, the food downstairs made it a very good place , good located near the subway, and the service to storage my luggage on the last day! Thnx Bowery! Many greetings. Paul ritsema.  "a rathole with many plus and and more minus"
I stayed at the Bowery House for 12 days.It was the 2nd cheapest i could find. The good things about it are that it was clean, the location is the best, the air condition was at full speed everyday(so much that i asked for an extra blanket), the girls at the reception were lovely.Bad things are that the room was too tiny, (the cells in jail are bigger, rathole is the word if you ask me) the bed and the mattress were too small (my legs were hanging out everynight), the showers and the toilets were common (but clean as i said) and even though the first days it was peacefull the four last days came a guy who he was snortin' like a lion, so i had to use the earplugs the hotel provided me when i checked in.

 "good price for value"
Positive: Very clean, nice and modern bathrooms, friendly personal and a wonderful terrace with tables and chairs to sit at the top of the building (4th floor of the hotel). Very convenient location at Little Italy in Manhattan. Negative: The rooms are extremely small, my bed was rather short, ca.180 cm, the single room was 3qm and there is no ceiling, rather a bar, so that you can hear everything from the flour and the other rooms.
