West of Central Park and North of 59th Street, the Upper West Side is a combination of townhomes, office buildings, high end shops, restaurants, and attractions. The defining point in the district is Columbus Circle. At the southwestern tip of Central Park is a monument to Christopher Columbus. Continuing through this traffic circle leads to the Time Warner Center. Inside the center are clothing boutiques such as Hugo Boss and Armani, a center for the performing arts, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and multinational offices.
Along the western border of the Upper West Side is the American Museum of Natural History. This museum is considered by experts to be the best natural history museum in the world. From oversize dinosaur halls to the Blue Whale gallery, everything about the museum is gargantuan.
