Among the historic sights of Charlotte is a magnificent Gothic church. The First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina was the first church established in this city. The place of worship was founded in 1815 as an interdenominational church. In 1845 the Presbyterians took over the church after paying off an existing loan. Since then, this Charlotte attraction has seen many changes.

The First Presbyterian Church is one of the tourism attractions of Charlotte because of its rich history and its stunning structure that has an interesting history itself. The initial building built by the Presbyterian organization was a Victorian Gothic edifice erected in 1857. This structure no longer exists but visitors can list the original church’s front entrance as one of the sights of Charlotte. The structure that rests on the site was erected in 1895 and it remains as one of the things to do in Charlotte that has profound historical significance.
