A trip to see the sights of Cincinnati would not be complete without a stop at the famous Coney Island. This popular Cincinnati tourism attraction began as a simple apple orchard that was sold to the Ohio Grove Corporation. The orchard was renamed Grove Park and later it was slated as the “Coney Island of the West.” Gradually, more and more people referred to Grove Park as Coney Island and the latter became its current designation.
This park boasts some of the most exciting things to do in Cincinnati and the location has had great staying power. The park originally opened on June 21 1886 has been among the most appealing activities in Cincinnati. Later, it was relocated to Kings Island theme park. Sunlight Pool, the largest circulating pool in the world, is still a major draw for travelers. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
