If you haven’t heard of Rice University, then this is for a good reason. It is such a school of excellence that it is referred to as one of the ‘Hidden Ivy League Universities’. In other words, this university has so much to offer, such a superb teaching facility and such excellence when it comes to research that it ranks as one of the best in the country, but because not that many people have heard of it, it manages to remain quite select and very prestigious. With some 3,000 or so under-graduates, as well as 900 post-graduates and some 1200 doctoral students, all divided into 8 schools, Rice is able to offer a range of 40 under graduate degrees, 51 masters and 29 doctoral. This makes it a leader in its field and it has established itself as one of the most renowned research facilities when it comes to the artificial heart.
