If there’s one thing you’ll find in Ho Chi Minh City, heck, in all of Vietnam, it is a wide variety of gorgeous Pagodas, scattered densely throughout the entire country and at key locations in every city. One of the most incredible of these pagodas, at least within the confines of Ho Chi Minh City, is said to be the Nghia An Hoi Quan Pagoda. This pagoda is decorated quite lavishly and is an important part of daily life in Ho Chi Minh City. If you stick around the pagoda for a little while, you will see members of the local Buddhist come in to say a short prayer before going on with their routine.
From the ceiling hang enormous coils of incense, an important part of Buddhist tradition. These coils, once burned, are described by some visitors as looking like the skeletal remains of some large Christmas tree. Of course, this might not be a real big draw for people who have severe allergies or can’t stand the smell of incense.
