Hanoi’s Friendship Culture Palace, a gift from the USSR Central Trade Union Council to the Vietnam Trade Union, began construction on the fifth of November in 1978 and was completed about seven years later on the first of September in 1985. The site consists of three main buildings. The first is a performance house, dedicated to the arts. With its rotary stage and theater seating 1256 occupants at once, this is where a lot of Hanoi’s major social events and cultural activities are held, including fashion shows, beauty contests, art exhibitions and musical shows. The second building, the study house, is where you’ll find workshops and educational events and the like, while the third, the science and technology house, is devoted to conferences and showcases relating to, of course, science and technology.
The three buildings contain a total of 120 rooms between them, and the site covers about 3.2 ha. Without a doubt, this is one of the most important cultural centers of Hanoi, Vietnam, if not the most important.
