The Museum of Revolution in Hanoi is a fascinating, controversial site, showcasing exhibits relating to such loaded topics as socialism, French colonialism and the various ideological wars the country of Vietnam has been involved in. The museum focuses on the sensitive, but very important, details in the recent history of this beautiful country. The museum is divided into three parts: A wing dedicated to exhibits regarding the anti colonial resistance battles, a wing devoted to the liberation wars fought with help from the Soviet Communist party, and a section relating to the building and defense of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
With over 40,000 items and artifacts, the museum documents propaganda campaigns, sculptures, weapons and thousands of other items relevant to the history of revolution in Vietnam. There is even a work by alleged traitor to the Soviet Union, Leon Trotsky, proving that the museum is willing to look at both sides of the issue.
