Pros: The room (a junior suite) had a fire in it, which was nice.
Cons: Although it had a fire, the logs / wood for it was situated outside around the other side of the building and on a lower floor. whilst a door to a available staircase that went straight to the room from the wood pile was locked and hence couldn't be used.
there was no cards / signs available to say whether you wanted your room to made-up or left alone and eventually the hotel rang to ask us.
we told them on no less than three occasions that we didn't wish the room to be cleaned.
however, as soon as they saw us leave the hotel for lunch, they entered the room and cleaned it!
when we returned, we asked why they had done this despite what we had said. and all we got in reply was a kind of 'oh well, why wouldn't we' type of response.
in all, a very silly hotel stuck in a 1970's time warp.
