We only stayed one night in this hotel and were generally happy with the double room. It was quite big and, even though the decor suggested otherwise, the shower and bathroom facilities were modern and very good. You'd expect more for your money elsewhere but it's right in the centre of New York, just off 5th Avenue, so you're basically paying for the location. Plus, it's very close to several metro stops, which is handy.

It's good place to stay. I slept in a 6 people room and everybody is, as usual, so quiet and respectful.

This place was not what I'd expected...never shared rooms with unknown people but the experience was not all that bad,unusual for me but an experience nonetheless not bad. T he location and price was perfect for New York City. I would not mind booking there again.

Cons: My reservation was for 1 bed in a 4 beds bedroom with a bathroom. i was put in a 8 beds bedroom without price deduction. the bathroom wasn't cleaned for my whole stay (5 nights).

Pros: First time staying at the gershwin. great value for the money. was upgraded to double beds instead of twins. staff very nice. the room was large and bathroom very accessible. overall great choice.
Cons: Hotel location was not as central, but i knew that. a little slow in giving our luggage to bellman, since we could not check in upon arrival. hot water in shower is a little slow, but eventually comes on.

Pros: Excellent hotel. basic room but clean with very comfy beds. quiet hotel, had a good view out onto the street although i reckon some people would have been looking out onto brick walls!

Pros: Really quirky and cute hotel, clean room, good location, and staff very nice. maybe a bar in the lobby wouldn't go amiss!!!!
Cons: The bed was pretty uncomfortable. also, when we booked back in november, you quoted us a low price for parking. we weren't told at that time that the service was changing and the cost would go up to 40 dollars. we should have either been informed of this information before hand, or the original price we were quoted should have been honored when we arrived as we booked before the new service was in place. apart from those things, the stay was very nice!

Pros: We stayed in a spacious, characterful 'superior double' suite - very clean with good facilities incl. en-suite bathroom, tv, comfy armchairs and in-room safe. although the hotel is perhaps less luxurious than some higher-star hotels, the staff was much more friendly and accommodating, and the same faces staffed reception throughout our stay. funky artwork and a relaxed feel made it a great stay - we spent a lot more time chilling out in the room than we would on a normal sightseeing trip because it was so pleasant.
