Pros: The hotel was fine - a small cosy room that was kept warm as it was a cold period - the room had wifi which was great - although a shared bathroom there is a sink and mirror in the room so you can prepare yourself and just go and shower. location was excellent

Pros: Hotel kept very clean and even though i was sharing s bathroom i never saw it in anything than exceptionally clean condition.
Cons: Only one lift, so you may have to wait a while if you're in the upper floors, but the stairs are easy to climb (i was on 8th floor and did this twice).

Pros: The hotel was small but that added to the charm, it wasnt uncomfortably small, just compact. it was clean and well maintained, no bad smells, no noise from neighbouring rooms, and was so close to the empire state building it was amazing for the price. the restaurant vizzo's just two or three doors down was amazing and i'd definitely recommend eating there one night especially as they allow you to sit outside too.
Cons: The gentleman who checked us in was a little grumpy but it was 7am so he can perhaps be forgiven.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was very clean and the value for the money was excellent. it's an older building that has always been a hotel. there is an ancient elevator and the corridors are a bit confusing but the overall effect is very charming.
Cons: The only negative comment i would have is that the beds are too short. my husband and i are both six footers and the beds really needed to be longer. overall, though, i would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget.

Pros: I was a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews, but once we got there we found that it was actually a really nice hotel! everywhere was clean, staff was helpful, and while the bedrooms aren't very big, they had everything we needed to be completely comfortable for the weekend. the icing on the cake was the price and location of hotel 31. we walked almost everywhere we went and were only minutes from all the main attractions of the city. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, cheap hotel to stay in.

Pros: Hotel location was good. great pizza place on the corner and a deli on the other corner. within walking distance of most place.
Cons: The only negatives were i asked for early check in and was asked to come back in a couple of hours. i didn't want to do that and then was told my room was ready. also i feel guests should be told that a shuttle bus is available but you must book 8 hours in advance.
