 "served its purpose"
The Room served its purpose of somewhere to sleep for the night. The hostel had a dull atmosphere and not much life. The room was ok with a clean bed. If you are looking for a room to stay in for the night this is fine, but if you want to meet people or somewhere with a good atmosphere, this is not the place.

The DJH Jugendherberge Augsburg is a central hostel in Augsburg, only a few steps from the so-called Max Street (Maximilian Street) with the Lech channels or the birthplace of Bertold Brecht. The DJH Jugendherberge Augsburg is the ideal starting point for exploring the numerous sights of Augsburg, or simply to go strolling. You can reach the best Augsburg sites on foot! Guests appreciate the modern facilities of this hostel: It is a very cozy place to relax after a busy day. Its central location and the pleasant atmosphere make it suitable for a school trip, for backpackers and for those who want a simple place to stay in Augsburg. A spacious lobby with bar and wireless Internet access, 4 club rooms (for small workshops), a large and bright dining room, lounge and reading room with a children's play area, a party venue and a billiard room are the services on offer here. IMPORTANT: admission to all Youth Hostels is possible only to members of the German Youth Hostel Association or members of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Groups need to show their group membership card. For staying in a youth hostel a membership card of a youth hostel association of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF) is required. Surcharge for travellers without IYHF Membership Card is €3,10 Euro per night.
