 "very pleasant stay"
found the hotel as per online directions no problem, lovely room overlooking canal, very quiet at night, bed EXTREMELY comfortable (had booked the larger dbl bed), it was very cold for the time of year but hotel was warm and cosy each time we returned from out & about. We ate out all the time to get most out of our time in Amsterdam so cannot rate the hotel food. The only negative was an odd smell from shower at times but having stayed in Amsterdam before realised this can be a problem in some areas - but not bad enough to hinder the enjoyment of our stay. Would recommend & stay at this hotel again

 "Pretty canal setting for this well managed hotel."
A very pleasant place to stay in Amsterdam. Easy walk to Rijksmuseum, canal boat tours and good restaurants. Nearby tram service provides quick transport to the rail station and city centre via a 16 or 24.A room near the lift can suffer from a little constant equipment noise.The staff are very obliging and courteous and breakfast is more than adequate.

 "The hotel stay was good but ......"
Both my friend and myself had enjoyed our stay at Hampshire Hotel very much. The location of Hampshire Hotel is within walking distance to most of the places of interest like floating flower market, Jordaan, Albert Cuyp market, etc. We got the rooms facing the Prinsengracht canal, the view is superb. The rooms are clean and the staff were very helpful. But the soundproofing of the hotel is very bad. We can hear guests coming out of the lift and walking in their rooms above us. It was disturbing to our sleep especially in the nights.

Hotel was fine. Really do wish we hadn't used Easytobook.com as they f-ed up our reservations. Ending up with an extra room which we needed to pay a no-show fee for. The flexibility on the part of the hotel in the process was limited to be perfectly honest.

 "good location"
good location near rembrant square lots of bars coffee shops etc just a short walk away. tram stop also in rembrant square no 14 or 9 takes you to central station. or its a 30min steady stroll past dam square and floating flower market taxi cost was 12 euro which we thought was excessive.beware that you buy the correct ticket should you get the train from the airport to amsterdam central as we sat in 1st class with a 2nd class ticket and were lucky not to get fined 38 euro. also take plenty of cash as its not a cheap place.
