Hotel Casa Peron Venice  

Pros: It was great being close enough to the bus station to walk to the hotel. all the major sights in venice were within walking distance. i loved that we had a balcony that overlooked one of the typical venice streets and we could hang out and see venice life happening just below us.
Cons: The owners, particularly the wife, was not very friendly at any time. it could have been the language barrier but she definitely never made us feel welcome. one of the men that helps run the place was quite friendly though. despite reserving a room for 65euro with the request of air conditioning and a bathroom in the room, when we arrived we were given a room with neither in it. we upgraded by an extra 10euro per night to get a/c in the room but the bathroom was still on another floor, which was hard on my mother. the breakfast was meager compared to other places we stayed in italy for the same price. it consisted of a croissant/rolls and your choice of coffee/tea.

Pros: Everyone at the casa peron was friendly and due to the small nature of the hotel our own personal preferences in the room and at breakfast were known by the second day, making us feel very important. the location was great as it was close to all attractions and transport links. (train, bus, water) the room was very clean and the en suite was equally as clean, towels and bedding changed daily. all in all, a fantastic experience!
