"Great location, friendly staff"

This hotel is excellently located very close to Dam Square, the staff friendly and efficicient, and great value for money. The rooms are clean, breakfast perhaps a bit "thin", but the only real problem the tiny bathroom, I had to sit sideways to use the toilet!

"this is a poor hotel vastly overpriced"

the room was not very good very small no tea making facilities.my room was ov erlooking main street and was very noisy both nights i could hardly sleep.i came back home shattered with lack of sleep. breakfast was very poor with no help from staff.all in all it was a very bad experience i could get a 5 star hotel in glasgow for the price i paid for a crap hotel

"doria hotel amsterdam"

The rooms were very small and basic even though I had a double roomThe wall lights did not work so had to get out of bed to switch off a lightHowever the shower was hot and strongThe bathroom was too smalli did not get my wake up call as the phone was not workingThis was put replaced on the second night and worked okThe rooms were clean but the whole place was in need of a lick of paint

"Excellent location but poor room"

The hotel location is in the middle of town city and that is excellent! The hotel staff is polite and complaisant, the breakfast food enough divers and tasty.But furniture and particularly mattress is really terrible.

"Good for what it is"

Me and my mrs stayed there for 3 nights and the beds and towels were changed daly, staff were friendly and hotel was clean with a bit of Amsterdam charcture , if u want luxury this is not for you but the location and local shops cafs and restaurants make up for this on a weekend away. Would defo stay here again

"Perfect Locations"

Hotel was basic but had what we needed and was immaculate. Location was ideal and right in the heart of the city. Breakfast was fine, selection of bread, rolls, cheese, meat and salad on offer as well as cereal, tea, coffee and juices. I would recommend this hotel.

"very good"

Located at few steps from Dam Square, one of the few hotels in Amsterdam where you can find an elevator. The cleanliness and the food are very good. From the hotel you can reach every attraction in 40-45 minutes maximum by feet.

"Lovely, friendly place"

We stayed for three nights for a long weekend, the hotel is situated right in Dam Square. It was clean, friendly staff and good value for money. Plus is had THE best mattress and pillow we've ever had the pleasure of using!! My partner has a bad back and wakes everyday in pain, first pain free nights of his life staying here :)

"Chillin' in The Dam."

The location of The Doria was ideal. Bang smack in the middle of town, therefore close to all amenities. The bedrooms were very clean, and the service provided included housekeeping daily. The bed was comfortable and the en-suite perfectly functional. I would have liked more wardrobe space and coat hangers (but doesn't every woman?) The directions to The Doria provided when booked were greatly appreciated - from the airport to the Dam (including which tram to take). I opted for inclusive breakfast (continental style provided) and was pleased breakfast times stayed open until 10.00a.m (so no ridiculous early rise whilst chilling in The Dam. Reception staff were chatty and relaxed. I would stay again happily. I didn't give a full mark for service as we didn't require much service other than what was provided, so I am unsure what other services or standard of service would have been provided. Being picky the room and en-suite could have been a wee bit bigger.

"Friendly staff & clean rooms made our stay."

The staff at the Doria where very genuine and helpful and cleanliness was better than a lot of hotels we have stayed in.The Doria is perfectly placed near Dam Square close to tram routes, red light area and not too far from the station.The rooms where adequate and certainly not oversized and some of the other guests had no respect for anyone else banging doors early in the morning and shouting.

"sweet"

Top hotel clean, helpful staff,location great,room spot on own bathroom hotel was a bit cold but it was snowing outside so cant say a lot about that overall outstanding 1of the best iv stay in over in amsterdam

location is excellent, room size ok, breakfast ok no safe in room, not enough space to sit on loo unless sitting sideways and decor tired are my only negative points, i would stay here again, would be nice if you could get loyaly discount on room price

The Doria apparently was renovated recently, clean rooms, very courteous and friendly service, the room I stayed in was perfect nice size room that was refreshed daily, only negative review would be WIFI service it was really badThank you Doria Job well done

"Good value!"

Lovely hotel - not the most modern but clean and helpful. The double rooms are ample although may be slightly stuffy for 2 people. You receive a reasonable buffet-style breakfast each morning in the adjoining restaurant - basic but pleasant. Perfect location by Dam Square, easy to spot. Made my first solo-experience one to remember!

Great value for money! Excellent location walking distance to A lot if the main attractions. Right next to dam square. Great service very helpful staff. Beds wer reli comfy! Rooms were basic but it was exactly what we wanted 4 a weekend trip :) highly recommend

"Family Weekend"

Ideally situated for exploring Amsterdam. Walking distance from Centraal Station . Friendly staff. Good selection for breakfast. Rooms warm and clean. Tea / coffee making facility in room would be welcome.

"Did just the job"

Good value hotel right in the heart of Amsterdam 20 yards from Dam Square and a two minute walk to the Red Light District. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend staying for a short break.

"1st Choice"

Whenever i am in Amsterdam for a long weekend this is the hotel i always look for. Great value for money, the staff are always pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself is right on Dam Square, so you are very close to all central attractions. I will be back in April 2013.

"Nice hotel, great location"

Very good service, polite, smiley and helpful but not in you face. The room wasn't big but big enough for a single bloke. Good shower also. Great location on the edge of the 'tourist' district. Loads of good pubs and restaurants. Only 10 mins walk to amsterdam central station. No one watching you at breakfast, so you could have a good old feed. Really nice dark brown bread. And internet access, sign says maximum 20 mins but in reality you could use it much longer...

"21st birthday party"

Location was very good right on the Dam square. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Good value for money. The service was good and food was fine. Only stay for a weekend but would stay there again.
