We had a very pleasant stay in this basic hotel. The location was very good, everything was clean and the people were very friendly. What's less? The quality of the building, the very steep stairs, the lack of comfort... but the price was very good for a stay in an European capital: we payed 150 euros for 2 nights, 2 parents and 2 kids of 14 years old, breakfast included.

Nice place to stay, not far from museums and center :) Breakfasts are good (bread, ham, cheese, eggs, cornflakes, muesli). The room wasn't cleaned every day, but that was okay. Be careful on the stairs!

Great budget hotel in the heart of Amsterdam .we have used this hotel twice within a year . Every thing is so close by , staff are great the only problem is the stairs are very steep and gramped -*******

I came over with a friend to a drum and bass festival. The hotel was what was expected although we were in room 1 which is next to the shared toilet. We weren't exactly there to spend a lot of time in the room and it was next to the venue of the festival so suited us just fine. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families or couples but for friends wanting a place to shower and get a few hours kip it is ideal. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. The shower and toilet is shared and could have been a bit cleaner but no serious complaints. It was my first trip to Amsterdam and absolutely loved it! This hotel is located pretty much in the centre of Leidesplein.

The hotel is located well, very close to Leidseplein. Of course it is not the best, but it is very good for its price and the info on the website is what you get. Our only problem was the shower. There was only one and it is on 1st floor, but our room was on 4th floor. İt wasn't that convenient for us, but the shower is wide enough to get your stuff in. Also there wasn't a toilet on 4th floor (top floor), but there was one toilet on each floor except ours. The stairs are also very steep, but i guess it is same with many buildings in Amsterdam. So if you can, ask for a room on 1st floor :).

Positive/ the location is great you can walk from here to almost all attractions. There are also tram and bus stops in 2 minutes. The breakfast is also good and staff are friedly. Bed linen is very clean.Negative/ this is not a hotel its more a hostel. the room we got was too small. we had our window to a back/void and not to the canal. the toilet was out of the room, too small and always smelly. in general it was very noisy. And dont forget about the stairs. they are too narrow and high. If you have big and heavy luggages dont stay in this hotel.all to all its ok but I personally dont recommend this hote!

My wife and I looked for a hotel close to the museum district of Amsterdam that included breakfast, clean, the lower price range and very good value. The room was clean, the employees were friendly and the service was good. The breakfast was adequate and good - hardboiled egg with several slices of mild tasting cheese and slices of processed ham with either bread or toast. Also, breakfast included several diferent jucies, cold cereal with milk, and a few different fruits (apples and oranges). My wife and I are happy customers and would return to this hotel in the future. We believe it is a good value lowered priced hotel.

Locationis fantastic for this hotel. Central to most of the locations in the city. Rijks and Van Gogh are 15 min walk. Service is good. Cleanliness and basic hygiene meets the mark. Avoid twin or share bathroom accomodation. The bathroom is only on the 1st floor. The restroom is one on each floor excepting the 4th flr. Due to the steep staircase this was a nightmare for us especially if you had loads of beer the evening before. For breakfast walk to a nearby cafe across the river is much better for traditional pancakes. Avoid using this hotel if travelling with kids or older members in the family due to the steep staircase.

This hotel is located very close to Leidseplein, which is very close to the Museum District. While the location is optimal, the quality of the hotel is quite poor. I stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom on the first floor (second floor for USA). The bathroom was being renovated and I had to climb the steep stairs in order to use the restroom, which turned out to be quite dangerous in the middle of the night. The room was small, smelled weird and had a constant clicking noise that was annoying. The room was also poorly insulated from outside noise. All in all, the stay was sub optimal. The complementary breakfast was the highlight. I would recommend this room to budget travelers, but would personally not stay here again.

Pros: Very friendly service. the first impression did not match the pictures on the internet, but it was good enough. breakfast was good and overall experience after all good. excellent location near the leidseplein but yet a quiet hotel!

Cons: The room was far too small, dirty sacks of laundry in hallway throughout my 3 day stay. bed had seen better days, probably 20 years ago. i was unable to recharge my mobile phones whilst there as limited power to my chargers so could not take photographs. to use the toilet one needed to be a contortionist as the door was so close to the toilet had to drop my trousers with the toilet door open then close it as i sat down and reverse procedure on finishing.
i wouldnt recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
