This hotel served our purpose, excellently. We needed a pleasant room prior to boarding a cruise, it is ideally situated, with helpfull & friendly staff, making a very enjoyable stay.

I had a fairly pleasant stay here. There were a few let-downs....like the gym!...no treadmill and no kettle bells as shown in the online picture of the gym. One reason I booked this hotel!The pillows in the room gave me a bad neck and the bathrooms are not big enough for bidays as they were in the way.Most of the staff were really lovely and helpful apart from the guy that does the late/night shift on reception......very rude!

Lovely hotel, with very helpful staff. Prior to arrival I requested a room with a view if possible, and was given a fantastic room with a brilliant view...I could not have asked for a better room.The staff at reception were very helpful with providing directions, as well as answering room service requests within minutes.The hotel was very well maintained, and very clean- the maids left the room perfectly.Only minor downside was that the WIFI in the lobby crashed a couple of times, but this was only for a few minutes.Overall- a brilliant hotel, and one I would definitely recommend and stay in again.

good hotel! nice little pool on the roof an terrace but get there early if you do not want to fight for a sun bed.. location was good if you want to be in the centre the beach and la ramblas and the cathedral are far to walk maybe but thats expected with how big barcelona is. to get on the city tour bus is only a short walk away. i liked the hotel my only concern was the room we stayed in 131.. the security in the room is bad! in the bathroom there is a square loft type door on the ceiling you can see up and push it up an see that there is a light on up there. the windows open out onto a fire exit that anyone from anyother room can access and could step into your room if your window was open plus the area did not seem to be monitored by any cctv and looked easy for anyone to gain access to this area from the reception. other than my worry of the security in the room i liked my stay just wish we were given a diffrent room.

This was a lovely hotel near the centre of barcelona and within walking distance of all the main sites. Good value for money. Well worth considering. We would come back if we were to visit Barcelona again.

Pros: Français: le personnel de l'hôtel est extraordinaire: un employé de l'accueil m'a même accompagné dans un comptoir bancaire automatisé pour m'aider à me procurer deux billets de spectacle pour un opéra (faut le faire). le personnel est très intentionné. l'hôtel est très propre, a du cachet, est situé dans un endroit rempli de restaurants, cafés...
Cons: Il y a un bar devant l'hôtel qui ouvre vers 6 h le matin et récupère les fêtards lorsque les autres bars ferment. c'est bruyant (cela ne provient pas du bar mais des personnes qui sont à l'extérieur).

Pros: Very clean, helpful staff, safe, pool, good prices (very often 20% for a 2 night stay--cheaper if booked through easytobook)
Cons: Expensive breakfast (we did not pay to eat there and i would not recommend to do so. there are a few cafes by the hotel); the location is not "close" to downtown and the rambla, but it was nice for us.

Pros: The location of the hotel is very good. they cleaned everything every day, very well.
tv with lots of channels and comfortable beds.
Cons: Breakfast is too expensive. balcony very nice, but too small for the size of the hotel. it was difficult to get a chair. the room was cool, but the air conditioner made too much noise.

Pros: This was my fourth visit to barcelona and each time i have stayed at the astoria. the experience has been pleasant each time. the staff are friendly and helpful and the location is ideal with restaurants and bars very close by.
