hotel was ok but could do with a bit updating. Internet in our room (on the first floor) was hardly working so had to go to the lobby to use receptions' wifi. Location is quite good for sight seeing, as only a minute away from the metro station (University) and 5 minutes away from La Rambla, but can be a hustle when coming from/getting to the airport with all your luggage (the train going to the airport does not operate from the University metro station)

We chose hotel after reading reviews and it filled the bill. Aerobus from airport dropped us off at the univeristat plaza just one block away. Starbucks, bakeries, cafe and convenient stores nearby. Close to metro which we used to get to cruise terminal. Hotel is basic, clean with friendly helpful staff. Free Wifi was sooo appreciated too.

the service was excellent. a very nice room with a large balcony with views of the city. near all of the main tourist attractions and restaurants . we were extremely pleased with this hotel.

Pros: The hotel was well situated close to playa catalania and las rambelas area of the city.the room we had was quite large and spacious, situated at the front of the hotel. we could hear a little traffic noise as the hotel is on a busy main road though was much quieter at night and did not cause any sleep disturbance.the hotel was appox 200 metres from the bus stop where the airport bus drops off. this was very convenient and only cost 9 euros return. the hotel did not have a bar though we did not feel this was necessary as there are a number of cafes/bars within a short walk of the hotel. breakfast was buffet style with adequate choice though not much choice of hot food.
Cons: The only thing we would have wanted is tea/coffee making facilities in the room. there wasn't any and no where to get same within the hotel.

Pros: Just a 10 minutes walk to catalunya plaza
there is a metro subway nearby which is very convenient for travelling around barcelona for only 1.45 euro
the price is reasonable. if you stay longer than 1 night, it is wise not to include breakfast as there is a cafe(open at 7am) next door whose breakfast menu is much better and cheaper

Pros: Great spot, friendly staff, good price, great room, super clean and balcony over looking the street -- huge bathroom and nice tv-- very comfy bed..i would stay here again and recommend it.
Cons: Breakfast a little pricey, had to pay for a key to use the safe in the room, and the maid ignored my do not disturb sign and entered my room anyway all but one day after i talked to the front desk about it but o well, stuff happens, could have been worse, i enjoyed it.

Cons: We booked at hotel caledonian, which looks like a very nice hotel. when we got to barcelona and to the hotel we were told they were full and they moved us to a hotel next door. it was ok, but didn't look as nice as hotel caledonian.
