Hotel Borromeo

The hotel was located a 7 min walk from to the central station Termini and 10 min walk away from the Colosseum. So it's a perfect location if you want a central hotel for you stay. We where very pleased with the hotel during our whole stay. The rooms are quiet, clean and air conditioned. The only thing we didnät like was that they charge wifi (around 2 euro per hour), and the breakfast is in the traditional italian style (croassint and coffe) .

We were a group of 3 (my daughters and I) and stayed 3 nights at the Borromeo. The location of this hotel is fantastic. We were able to easily walk from the train station to the hotel and then to walk to the Coliseum and Palentine Hill area. The staff were mostly helpful but the front desk was a bit disorganized. I would have to wait for help while the clerk spoke on the phone alot. ALSO for what I paid I would have expected free WI FI but had to pay 2 Euros an hour. WI FI was available in the room but it is chintzy of them to ask you to pay for it.The free breakfast in the morning, on the roof terrace, is in a charming spot. HOWEVER it is very understaffed. One sour looking woman was constantly running back and forth to replenish the food and there was never enough water. Also, a huge disappointment, no cappuccino or latte machine, just coffee warm milk and you sort of made your own. Also said cranky woman saw my daughter pocket an orange, and spoke to her rudely, I'm assuming telling her we could not take any food with us. Then in true Italian form she would not meet our eye but muttered darkly every time she passed us. Hilarious!No where is perfect but we were happy with this hotel for the most part. The location is very good but they are definitely under staffed. So fair warning - don't take a piece of fruit with you later to munch on while walking around St Peters Sq or risk the wrath of the breakfast attendant.

Excellent hotel for 3 star rating. Location is very near the center. However in a busy street, no noise from outside traffic whatsoever. Very nice rooms, daily cleaned and fresh towels, good beds. Breakfast was far more than expected. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a city trip.

Hotel staff were friendly.. Blankets on the bed looked like they hadn't been changed in a while. If guests wanted to sleep in past 4.30 this was difficult from the loud banging from staff.. And breakfast wasn't very inviting..Hotel did the job but not one to recommend to friends.

A superb 3 star hotel in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the major attactions. Close to Termini station was easy to get to and from the airpot by either train or bus. Also an advantage if going on to visit Venice/Florence as we did.The service was fantastic with the staff being exremely helpful and polite whether they were arranging tours or the simple task of sorting the internet connection.The breakfast was fantastic and set you up nicely for the long day ahead.The room and bathroom were modern and very clean. With plenty of eateries in the vicinity meals posed no problems at all. All in all a wonderful hotel that I would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Pros: This hotel was so well placed that we could walk to all the historical sites. you could also get the bus from the airport to central rome for 3.90 euros per person. the journey from the airport took around 30 minutes. a very nice hotel comfortable friendly staff and a lovely breakfast too.

Pros: Breakfast served in conservatory on rooftop.
Cons: Building work in progress in hotel on floor below. drilling and hammering very early in the morning.

Cons: They decided to jackhammer the floor of the room directly above ours very early one morning.

Pros: good location and the staff very good.
Cons: The beds are very hard and pillows very thin

Pros: The hotel is in a great location central to everything. breakfast was a good start to the day. the staff were very helpful especiall after one of my party had to change his room because of the door not locking properly.
Cons: I suspect that two people might find it slightly cramped in the rooms.

Pros: Staff was very helpful.
Cons: Room 206 was good, except for the shower head that did not fit itls holder so that one could uses it hands free.

Pros: It was a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again if ever in rome again.

Pros: Close to train station and local sights including the colosseum. staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and surprisingly spacious considering the comments i had previously read about hotels in rome.

Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Bathrooms, both in my and my colleague's rooms, needed a good deal of attention
