We had a very nice stay, the service was excellent and hotel employees were very helpful (especially when I blocked the safe and they unlocked it 5 minutes later). Even though we stayed in a room "without a sea view", the sea was visible (which was a nice surprise). The breakfast package was a bit too expensive for us (15 eur), but there was an excellent restaurant right behind the corner (El Modernista). We started every day from the walk on the beach - it was literally 5 minutes away (one or two intersections).We will certainly stay in this hotel again.

A very friendly hotel! Staff are all very inviting and help with whatever problems or questions you may have. The rooms are very clean and to a high quality, the only problem was we found the bed quite hard, but that was really a minor issue! Good, quiet location with very easy access to the metro and the centre. There is also a small supermarket nearby which was very handy for buying water etc. Would happily stay in this hotel again!

Great hotel and good value for money, staff extremely helpful.Location wise, found it alittle quiet, seemed to be a newly made tourist area and will probably grow in a few years.Seemed to be aimed more at business people rather than holiday makers. Two minutes to be beach though which is great! There are two beaches next to each other, one was family orientated, the other a nudist beach which seemed to consist of mainly men!

We decided to have a mini city break in Barcelona and wanted a clean,convenient and good value hotel which was located close to the beach. Whist the Hesperia Del Mar did deliver on all aspects we found that the links to the centre of Barcelona to be stretched a little (20mins bus ride or 30mins on Metro including a 15 minute walk to the nearest station.)We would definitely recommend the hotel to others but advise all guests to consider which aspects they want to prioritise because if it's ease of location then this hotel may not be for you (plus the breakfast is not great)

Ideal location for beach and easy access to metro into city centre. Plenty of restaurants in the area too. Rooms are spacious and very clean.

Pros: Hotel was nice. near the beach and easy access to centre of town. the staff was extremely nice and serviceminded. overall a good experience. breakfast was really nice too.

Pros: The receptionist was very nice and she knows english well. hotel is 2 minutes from the sea side, but not many rooms got sea view.
Cons: That was 4* hotel, but it was not impressive as 4*, the room was not perfect clean, a specially in batroom, the tiles was perhaps never cleaned, when i wanted to wash it a little with white baby tissue, the tissue was brownish, jellowish from dirt, and it makes me sick, i can not imagin how much of bacteria there was, blehhh.the bath area was not clean at all, to much mould... its shame for 4stars hotel. the breakfast was nothing special, we ate there only once, tea was not hot, and bad taste. i would not stay there again, however it was cheap and i'll only recommend it for business purposes.

Pros: Very close to the sea, restaurants near by, close to the bus turistic stop, 10 mins from the metro station, coffee shop on the other corner...parking!
Cons: You can walk down to the hotel from the city center and the rambla, but it's a little bit far...so the metro is a better solution.

the hotel was much better than we had anticipated for a city break hotel in this price range. perfect week and easy access to all main sites as well as the beach.
Cons: Only negative was the price of the breakfast in comparison to what you actually get to eat. more variety of food would be another plus to a great hotel.
